Scott Mckean is a Toronto-based artist whose mediums include painting, drawing, drumming and community building.

Visual Art
After studying at the Ontario College of Art and Design, he worked as a resident artist in many Toronto night clubs, was an art educator and created a body of private and public work.

Scott paused his painting ambitions to focus on community building but has recently returned to the painting studio to create a new body of work that explores the connectivity and energy generated between people, systems, places and emotions. His choice of colour, technique and detail are often inspired by his own lived experience which includes working with vulnerable populations, innovating the systems that support them and celebrating the resilience of community.

Music
Scott is an accomplished drummer and percussionist who has performed and recorded with local and international artists representing a variety of genres.

Community Building
Scott builds community by working with residents and grassroots community groups to mobilize innovative responses to complex issues. He has worked in the community not-for-profit sector, for the City of Toronto and Province of Ontario. Scott shares his experience and expertise nationally and internationally through his Naif Concepts.
